This postcard sized oil painting on board is signed B Curtis and Mrs B Curtis written on the back. She was a known Christchurch artist active in the mid to late 1900's who painted landscapes of areas of beauty in the south island. This one is of the stunning Knights Point near Haast in the west coast of the South Island. It is framed in a simple black preloved frame and is in great condition. The original frame the painting came in was not suitable and in removing the painting from the frame some of the masking tape (which was very old) with writing on the back of the frame disintegrated and was not salvagable. Luckily I had taken photos!
